Silicone Slider

When the skilled Toba designers and engineers at Challenger Studio heard about the Rocket Dog Project, they lobbied hard to be allowed to build rockets for the dogs. While their normal projects were not rocket based, they argued that they could partner with engineering teams, and their industrial design sensibilities would more than justify the added organizational complexity.

Kainsha and Gogali - the two Toba at the Rocket Dogs project who were coordinating teams to build the backpack rockets for the dogs – were partially convinced and gave Challenger Studio the go-ahead to design and build one rocket. The result was the Silicone Slider. The internals are a ramjet, capable of functioning as an air-breathing jet engine in the atmosphere of Quantum Prime and the various moons but switching over to rocket mode when between planets in space. The technology of the Silicone Slider was merely repurposed from other projects, but the breath-taking industrial design ensured that the team at Challenger Studio was given the opportunity to design several other rockets for the Rocket Dogs.
