Dogs
Though Commanders call the shots in Rocket Dogs, the dogs are the stars - as they should be! The Genesis Set features 25 unique Dog breeds, ranging from all-time favorites like the Shiba Inu and Siberian Husky to more obscure breeds, such as the Basenji and Vizsla. Future Sets will introduce new Dog breeds until all 500 Dog breeds can compete in Rocket Dogs races.
All Dogs are unique, and as such, each breed features its own unique approach to racing. From the Greyhound that focuses on all-out Speed and Acceleration to the English Bulldog's strategically high Capacity, there's a Dog to suit every Commander. Explore different gameplay strategies by trying out several Dog breeds to find a pawed partner that's perfect for you.

Base Stats
Dogs have eight stats ranging from 1 to 50 that affect their racing style and scavenging ability. Each Dog breed has a different combination of base stats, enabling a vast array of racing strategies.
Speed determines your Dog's maximum running speed during a race. The higher your Dog's Speed, the faster they'll run!
Acceleration is your Dog's 0-60 rating, determining how quickly your Dog will reach its top running speed from a stopped or slowed condition. High Acceleration is key to helping your Dog regain its top running speed (and race position!) quickly after being hit by an opponent's Attack.
Endurance determines how quickly your Dog's Energy depletes as they're racing. The higher your Dog's Endurance is, the slower their Energy will drain throughout their time on the racecourse.
As Energy drains, your Dog's racing performance will begin to suffer. It's always a good idea to have something on-hand to help your Dog to regain Energy while racing, like Treats!
Even the zippiest of Dogs can get caught by a well-executed Attack! Agility determines your Dog's ability and likelihood of avoiding a Spike-type Attack. Higher Agility stat values allow your Dog to avoid more Spikes as they race!
Ever met a Dog whose stubbornness rivals a brick wall? Now, you can use it to your advantage! Will represents how much mental willpower your Dog has. A Higher Will stat value helps to reduce the effect of Strain-type Attacks against your Dog, sometimes avoiding them altogether!
Sometimes, Dogs see things we can't. Perception represents how keen-eyed or observant your Dog is on the racecourse. The higher your Dog's Perception, the greater the chance they'll avoid Traps and environmental effects, or even find helpful shortcuts or other in-race bonuses on the course!
A Dog's Capacity helps determine the maximum amount of Build Cost your Loadout's Strategy Deck can contain.
A Dog's Scavenging proficiency helps determine how successful the Dog's Scavenging quests will be.
Capacity
Your Strategy Deck must include 15 Items. These are your Attacks, Shields, Treats, Rocket Fuel, etc.
All Items have a Build Cost ranging from 0 to 6, which is the cost to include that Item in your Strategy Deck. Suppose your Loadout has 25 Total Capacity, which is the sum of your Dog's Capacity stat plus any additional Capacity gained from your equipped Rocket or Gear. In that case, the total Build Cost of all the Items in your Strategy Deck can equal up to 25.
For example, if you include five copies of a 5 Build Cost Item, your other 10 Items must all have a 0 Build Cost.
Generally, a higher Capacity allows for Items with higher Build Costs, such as better Attacks, to be more easily included in your Loadout! Get strategic when considering what Dog is best to execute your Loadout's Strategy Deck.
Rarity Bonus Stats
Every rarity tier above Common gives a Dog one extra stat point per tier that you can add to any of your Dog's base stats to begin customizing your Dog!
Rarity Tier | Bonus Stats |
---|---|
Common | 0 |
Uncommon | 1 |
Rare | 2 |
Super Rare | 3 |
Ultra Rare | 4 |
Cosmic Rare | 5 |
Energy
Dogs begin every race at the starting line with 100% Energy. As the race unfolds, your Dog will lose Energy at a rate determined by its Endurance stat. The higher your Dog's Endurance, the slower their Energy will deplete.
As your Dog's Energy depletes, their racing performance may start to suffer in a few ways:
-
Decreased maximum running speed. Your Dog can only maintain its maximum running speed when its Energy is above the Reserve Limit. The Reserve Limit may change race to race, depending on the race format or distance. Sprint races may have a 10% Reserve Limit, while long-distance Enduro races, on the other hand, may have a 60% Reserve Limit.
Once your Dog's Energy falls below the Reserve Limit, they will run slower. If they lose all their Energy, they'll run at minimum speed. A Dog's minimum speed is the same for all Dogs, regardless of Breed or their Speed stats - consider it a simple trot!
-
Decreased avoidance of your opponent's Attacks. Your Dog has a chance to avoid incoming Attacks based on its stats. Agility determines the max avoidance rate of Spikes, Will determines the max avoidance rate of Strains, and Perception determines the max avoidance rate of Traps.
These max avoidance rates are only possible when your Dog's Energy is above the Reserve Limit. As Energy depletes below the Reserve Limit, these avoidance rates begin to decrease as your Dog grows tired. When your Dog has 0% Energy, it will no longer have a chance to avoid any incoming Attacks.
-
0% Energy. Don't worry, your Dog won't be removed from their race if they reach 0% Energy! However, they will be exhausted, run at minimum speed, and be unable to avoid any incoming Attacks.
Leveling System
Dogs can grow their racing abilities by leveling up, allowing you to improve your Dog's stats and enhance your gameplay strategies. Want to own the most agile Husky in the cosmos? Add a dash of Agility. Want to train the fastest Pomeranian in the Aluza system? Add a sprinkle of Speed. Want to command the best scavenging Bloodhound on Quantum Prime? Turn an eye toward Scavenging.
All Dogs start at Level 0, maintaining their breed's base stats plus any Rarity Bonus Stats. After their first Race, they'll level up to Level 1, helping you keep track of which Dogs have begun to compete.
Each time you Level your Dog, they'll gain one stat point that can be applied to any of their base stats. At Level 25, for instance, your Dog will have 25 more stat points than a Level 0 of the same rarity tier and is now fully customized by you!
Level 2 and higher are unlocked by spending Insert Coins you've won from racing.
The cost of each level is equivalent to $1.00 USD paid in Insert Coins when you level up your Dog.
Dogs can reach an initial Max Level of 25. Higher Levels beyond 25, however - which will eventually allow a Dog to climb to Level 100 - are achieved through the Dog Generations system, described below.
Dog Stat Resets
Want to try out a new race strategy with your Dog that requires a different distribution of its stat points? Or perhaps the metagame has shifted, and what worked for you last Season is an outdated strategy. Don't worry. You can reset your Dog's stats anytime with the help of Insert Coins.
The cost to reset your Dog's stats, which enables redistribution of those stats, is equivalent to $1.00 USD paid in Insert Coins at the time of reset.
When you initiate a Dog stat reset, their stats revert to its Breed's Base Stats. You can then reapply all stat points from its Rarity Bonus (Uncommon and higher rarities) and all stat points from its current Level to create the Dog of your wildest dreams.
Skills
Each Dog breed has a unique Breed Skill. From the Shiba Inu's Barrel Roll to the Greyhound's Beyond Redline, Breed Skills ensure each Dog has a racing style that is truly distinctive to them.
Active & Passive Skills
Dog Skills can be Active or Passive. Active Skills are abilities that you, as the Dog's Commander, may choose when to use or activate during a Race. Passive Skills are abilities that you do not have to actively manage, as they will take effect automatically when certain conditions are met.

Skill Slots
Even old dogs can learn new tricks. Each Dog has two additional Skill slots that are vacant by default. You may choose to purchase additional Skills from the global Skill pool with Insert Coins, further customizing your Dog's Skills to fit your desired race strategy!
The rarity of your Dog will determine which Skills you can purchase for your two additional Skill slots.
Rarity | Slot 1 - Max Skill Tier | Slot 2 - Max Skill Tier |
---|---|---|
Common | 1 | 1 |
Uncommon | 2 | 1 |
Rare | 2 | 2 |
Super Rare | 3 | 2 |
Ultra Rare | 3 | 3 |
Cosmic Rare | 3 | 3 |
When you purchase a new Skill for your Dog, it is permanently learned by that Dog. Your Dogs only need to learn each unique Skill once. You can purchase as many additional Skills for your Dog as you'd like, but you can only fill each slot with one Skill at a time. You can switch which Skills are filled in each slot at any time between Races to best suit your next race strategy!
Each Skill costs $5.00 USD paid in Insert Coins at the time the Skill is purchased.

Dog Generations
All Dogs have a Generation (abbreviated Gen), which determines the Max Level ceiling for a given Dog. Higher Gen Dogs allow for higher Max Levels, as outlined below:
Generation (Gen) | Max Level |
---|---|
1 | 25 |
2 | 40 |
3 | 55 |
4 | 70 |
5 | 85 |
6 | 100 |
Dogs sold in Combo Boxes are always Gen 1.
Gen 2 through Gen 6 Dogs are acquired by retiring two max level Dogs of the same breed from the previous Generation. The two retired Dogs will parent a new next-Gen Dog! The newly acquired Dog always starts at Level 0, and is an NFT, just like all other non-retired Dogs.
For instance:
- 2 Gen 1 Level 25 Shiba Inus Gen 2 Level 0 Shiba Inu
- 2 Gen 5 Level 85 Siberian Huskies Gen 6 Level 0 Siberian Husky
The newly acquired next-Gen Dog will inherit all Skills ever learned by its parents and owned at the time of their retirement.
Currently, you can only acquire Gen 2 Dogs. As the game grows, the Toba have committed to researching, observing, and sharing best practices toward the parentage of next-Gen Rocket Dogs so that one day, higher Generations will be available.
Retired Dogs live out their days at Rocket Dogs Ranch, a place of blissful happiness created by the Toba to care for and nurture retired Rocket Dogs! You'll always be able to visit them on the Ranch to reminisce about their legendary legacies on the racecourse and deliver the most epic belly rubs in the galaxy.
When you retire your Dogs, they are no longer playable, are no longer owned by you, and cease to be NFTs. Instead, they will enjoy their remaining time in the cosmos at the Ranch, and their racing and scavenging adventures will be memorialized in your account forever!
