Pixel Duster
The Pixel Duster is another model from the gearheads at Overdrive Technology. When the engineers there were told that they could submit more designs for a second deadline, they knew exactly what they had to do.
Their first model, the Plasma Raptor, was based on their multiple-award-winning Toba racing aircar… but in scaling it down to Rocket Dogs size, they had to make some compromises. The Plasma Raptor, like all Toba race aircars, uses broadcast electrical power … but turning that power into velocity generates a lot of waste heat, and on a small Rocket Dog rocket, it’s not easy to dump that heat. The Plasma Raptor solved that problem by tuning in less power than possible, thus limiting the rocket’s capabilities not by how much power was available, but by how much conductive cooling could be achieved through the hull.
The solution was clear: the engineers at OT consulted with computer engineers and learned their secrets: active cooling. Using the same technology that Toba supercomputers use, the Pixel Duster uses pumped fluids and heat sinks to dump waste heat … and thus enable faster speeds.
The resulting rocket isn’t just fast; it’s something to look at.
