Novatropia

Novatropia is more ocean than land - exactly the opposite of Exosol and Helios Retreat. Cooling trade winds fan the hundreds of small tropical islands that dot the aquamarine world-ocean. Leaning palm-like trees cast shade across the white sand beaches. The Toba who live here have adapted to the tropical paradise by building small homes, open to the (delightful) weather, thatched with foliage harvested from the local trees. Cuisine is highly oriented around fish, shellfish, fruits, vegetables, fish, and more fish.

The salt-water ocean is generally shallow, but in certain places it gets even shallower, to the point that an adult Toba can walk on the ocean floor. These just-buried sandbars are home to a lot of aquatic life, and so some Toba have built homes on stilts on these shallow spots, which allow them to fish off their front porches, or jump in the water and feel with their toes for various forms of shellfish.

Fish, undersea vegetables, and other exotic foods are carried across the moon in small junk sailboats, to the handful of islands large enough to land a rocket on. From there, they’re shipped to Quantum Prime, in return for all manner of high-tech imports.
