Zenex Surge
Between the elegant, rounded boulders, the subtle and mysterious wooden temples, and the perfectly manicured gardens, the floating sky islands of Zenexia look like they’re thousands of years old and come from some alien world where rocks float … but all Toba know that the islands are actually artificial constructs, held aloft by silent anti-gravity hover engines.
When the sky islands were first created, they were parked on the ground at night, and only lifted during the day when tourists arrived. This was economical, saving fuel, but as Zenexia became more popular, and tourists decided to stay in small cabins and sages came to live on the sky islands, meditate, and practice their calligraphy, it became clear that keeping the island aloft at all times would be better.
…but how to power the anti-gravity engines? A research and development project was launched, and the result was Zenex Surge. By design, a small amount of Zenex Surge can be trickled into an anti-gravity engine slowly, over the course of a day …but if a Rocket Dog chooses to dump an entire load into his rocket all at once, his competitors had better watch out, because they’re about to be passed!
