Galactic Greaves

Even before King Nokbido’s reign, the Toba forged greaves to protect their shins from injury. Whether as armor to protect in battle or while riding a tall, graceful forest zelko through dense brush, a pair of greaves were an essential part of a Toba’s garb. Now days greaves are still worn by Toba during some sporting events to protect their shins.

Rocket Dogs also appreciate protection for their limbs. Between dodging traps, obstacles and other Rocket Dogs, a dog’s forearm, wrist, forefoot, and toes can collide with immovable objects, and it is none too pleasant.

During training, one of the greyhounds was accidently pushed into a fence while running at full speed. After the inevitable tumble, the dog sprang up, but then limped off the track. It took a few days to heal and work out the soreness, but afterwards the greyhound was very shy about getting close to the fence again. The trainer Tarlee, originally from Lukona, grew up herding animals and riding zelkos. He understood what the greyhound was fearing and set out to make a pair of greaves. It took several tries and eventually some assistance from Atomo-Dyne for his vision to come to life.

Galactic Greaves offer a Rocket Dog protection against bumps and scrapes during training and racing. The greaves are immensely adjustable due to the myriad of sizes of Rocket Dogs. After adjusted correctly they fit like an extra skin. They gave an once fence shy greyhound the confidence it needed to get low and close during a full speed turn.
