Pug

The Pug was the dog that most confused the Toba. From watching Earth videos intercepted and downloaded into the Toba flagship Leihnard’s data banks, they knew that Pugs were a famous warfighting breed of dogs that - according to one human historical documentary - had once helped House Attredies defeat imperial forces in the Battle of Arrakeen (the exact location of Arrakeen was a bit unclear to the Toba, but the consensus from watching and rewatching the documentary is that the city was probably in the Earth nation of Egypt.)

The exact manner in which the Pugs help human soldiers is unclear. Do they whisper tactical advice into their ears? Warn them with barks of impending danger? No amount of rewatching the documentary nor experimenting with carrying Pugs around in simulated battles could explain it, so the Toba abandoned this approach and decided to just watch the Pugs at play to determine what their particular talents were… and the Toba still aren’t entirely sure. The Pugs seem to be very relaxed dogs, much of the time, but then spring into a barking frenzy when something new catches their attention … might that somehow be useful in Rocket Dogs races?
